Top 5 Weight Training Program Reviews
Hi! My name is Max, and I made this website to help you find the best weight lifting
& bodybuilding routines
for your fitness goals (and to avoid the scams I found). Less than a year ago, I was 207 lbs and 19.8% body fat even though I worked out, ran and played sports regularly. Fast-forward to today: I'm 186 lbs and 11.4% body fat, I burnt off over 25 lbs of excess fat, gained 7 lbs of lean muscle, and doubled my max bench press!
I was sick of not getting results from the routines & diet plans I had been using for years, so I did a TON of research and ended up buying 9
bodybuilding programs! I tried them all out, ditched the ones that I didn't like, and reviewed the top 5 on this page. I spent $544.80, and it was totally worth it, but don't worry: you won't have to spend nearly that much to reach your goals! I already did the hardest part for you (buying & testing all of the top routines online). All you have to do is pick the best program for you and stick to it.

The key is finding the right program for you, and sticking to it. Too bad that's way harder than it sounds, right? Well, after researching & testing
routines
for months, I think the 5 on this page are the best out there.
In a rush? Here's a quick summary of what I found:
Muscle Gain Truth - The best program for building muscle by far. Though it was tough for me to burn fat with this one, I love the printable routines & meal plans, and the fact that there are video demos for every exercise. Coolest muscle gain program I've ever seen: Muscle Gain Truth.
No Nonsense Muscle - Really close to Muscle Gain Truth, but geared more toward form and packing on muscle for skinny people (which I wasn't!). Routine isn't as nice, but there are tons of meal plans, exercises to choose from, and helpful tips to get the most out of your workouts. Best weight gain program: No Nonsense Muscle.
Turbulence Training - The program that kick started my results! This routine was the reason I was able to shed those first 24lbs or so and start seeing real results. This in combination with Muscle Gain Truth is the best way to get ripped, in my opinion. Burn fat & gain muscle w/ 30 minute workouts: Turbulence Training.
7 Minute Muscle - The fastest routine I've ever tried, but I don't recommend it by itself. Though this is a fun and challenging program, I'm still not at this level, to be honest. Unless you're looking for something really quick, Muscle Gain Truth is a better investment. Advanced, but very fast workouts: 7 Minute Muscle.
Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle - This is the best beginner course, but it's more of a book to learn from than a program to follow. It's a nice way to get started, but it's NOT a ready-to-rock routine like the programs above. Great book for beginners, but NOT a routine to follow: Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle.
Want to learn more about each of the programs I bought and pick the best one for you?

After buying 9 bodybuilding routines online, "The Muscle Gain Truth" gets my highest rating by far! This course is jam-packed with literally everything you could ever need (or want) to help build muscle naturally, all without having to waste tons of money on trainers or supplements.
The program was created by a guy named Sean Nalewanyj, a well-respected natural bodybuilder, trainer & fitness expert. After reading all of his ebooks, I found that Sean really knows his stuff, and he learned it all by breaking the rules.
He ditched the magazines, the supplements, the workout routines, the hype...and took action, slowly but surely perfecting his own weight training routine & diet plan.
Muscle Gain Truth Pros:
- Full, customizable 26-week training routine
- Video instruction on every exercise
- Printable meal plans w/ grocery lists (2,000-6,000 calories/day!)
- PDF & MP3 versions of guides
- Conveniently online, no waiting for shipping
- Great tips for choosing/avoiding supplements & exercises for your goals
- 3-month free membership to Sean's "School of Muscle", which is sweet!
- Way cheaper than a personal trainer, but you get the same benefits
Muscle Gain Truth Cons:
- It won't help you lose fat (Read the full review to see how I fixed this...)
- The website is too hyped-up (Sean's a pro bodybuilder, not a web designer)
- The routine takes 3-5 hours/week (Could be worse, but some are quicker)
UPDATE: As I used this program, I slowly improved it by finding free progress trackers, new reports and videos that helped solve its problems, and recreating the entire printable routine in Word so I could change anything I wanted (to mix things up).
Here's the cool part: if you get Muscle Gain Truth through any of the links on this page, I'll confirm the purchase with Sean as quickly as possible, and send you all 10 of the things I added to the program as FREE bonuses!
Out of all the programs I bought, "The Muscle Gain Truth" helped the most. Instead of just wasting hours reading rehashed information in a long & boring book, I was actually able to print off routines, follow the bodybuilding diet plan, track my improvements online, AND learn how to boost my fitness results quickly with the training and video tutorials.
While the site is way too hyped-up and may seem unbelievable, trust me: you'll get a hell of a lot more from "The Muscle Gain Truth" than you ever could from spending $100's more on any number of exercise machines or supplements.
Plus, tons of people have success paying $25-60+/hour or more on a personal trainer, but this is even better: you can watch videos and look up anything you can imagine, 24/7 online...without paying more week after week!
Take action & get what you want (and get all 10 of my bonuses for FREE): |
|
P.S. - Sean offers an excellent web course to help you build maximum muscle in minimum time, and I would highly recommend signing up for it! He didn't send me any spam, and it's free even if you don't buy The Muscle Gain Truth, so why not see what he has to offer without spending a dime?

The No Nonsense Muscle Building package is my #2 program overall, because it has everything you need, BUT it doesn't have quite as much to offer as "Muscle Gain Truth". It was created by Vince Delmonte, a dude that went from 149 lbs to 210 lbs of mostly muscle in 24 weeks, and went on to place 1st in a fitness model championship.
Vince is a world-class trainer now, and his "No Nonsense Muscle" course shows it...The bonuses Vince includes make it an excellent package for anyone wanting to put on some serious muscle, keep the fat off while they're at it (which was tough for me using the diet plan from Muscle Gain Truth), all without supplements.
NOTE: No Nonsense Muscle is geared more toward being a weight gain program than the others I've tried, because Vince himself used his routine & diet plan to go from being a 149lb skinny runt to 190lbs of solid muscle in 6 months!
The price is reasonable at $77, considering many people pay $50 every month for a gym membership and $50-$200+ for protein powder and other supplements! Plus, this is a one-time cost. Not to mention the fact that most trainers charge $20-$100 per hour, so it's easy to see how this will add up to waaaay more than $77, after even just 2 months.
Wondering if "No Nonsense Muscle Building" is good for you? Let's break it down:
No Nonsense Muscle Pros:
- Easy-to-follow muscle building meal plans
- Flexible workout routines (All 124 online & printable)
- Lots of info about supplements (what to avoid, how to use them properly, etc.)
- Lots of online resources; Like having a trainer without paying per hour
No Nonsense Muscle Cons:
- The website is too hyped-up
- There aren't many people in the forum
- Doesn't have videos of every exercise like Muscle Gain Truth
- Online progress tracker isn't as flexible as routines
Basically, if you want to bulk up without taking supplements, and do it with a killer set of routines and printable meal plans, No Nonsense Muscle Building is your perfect program.

The "Turbulence Training System" is actually the first fitness program I bought online, because I kept reading that if I wanted to burn fat before bulking up (I was 207lbs and chubby then), cardio just wasn't going to cut it. Some people mentioned interval training, and how it helps to boost fat loss results in less time than boring cardio routines.
I checked it out online, and found a cardio vs. interval training debate that explained why it was better than cardio, and it mentioned the "Turbulence Training System". This was really helpful, so I decided to buy it since it was only $39.95, and started using it the next day.
Following Craig's program cut my workout times down to about 30 minutes, from 60-90 minutes (stretching, running for 30 minutes, and lifting weights). Plus, this helped me drop my body fat from 19.6% to 11.4% and start toning up & looking ripped. =)
While I wasn't gaining a crazy amount of muscle with this program like I have been with the "Muscle Gain Truth" & "No Nonsense Muscle", I was able to keep the fat off, increase my speed, agility and stamina, and get more toned which was incredible!
So, is "Turbulence Training" the best product for you? Here are the pros and cons:
Turbulence Training Pros:
- Cheaper than the other programs, but still has an upgrade option
- Lots of options for routines (bodyweight, interval training, lifting, etc.)
- Perfect for burning fat while/before gaining muscle
- Shorter, easier-to-read guides compared to the others
- Best routine for females wanting to tone up (Still great for guys, too)
- Better program for long-term health (Heart health, stamina, etc.)
- Workouts can be done at home, outside or at the gym
Turbulence Training Cons:
- Not enough nutrition info for a full meal plan
- Less geared toward building muscle (without upgrade option)
- Routine is more flexible, but you have to make more decisions on your own
I learned a lot of great info from Craig Ballantyne with his program, and I'm very glad I bought it in combination with some more direct muscle building routines.
I personally didn't think the extra bonuses for the upgrade were worth the $57.05 jump in price (except for "TT for Mass"), but for $39.95, you can't beat this program!
If you want to get rid of some excess fat before/while you build massive muscle, then the "Turbulence Training System" will help you do just that, so check it out: |
|
P.S. - Once again, I would definitely sign up for the free email course you'll find at TurbulenceTraining.com.
Literally 100,000's of people pay to subscribe to Men's Health magazine, and Craig Ballantyne, the author of "Turbulence Training", writes for Men's Health! He never sent me spam, but he does send some of his best tricks for free, so there's no harm in signing up...

"Yeah yeah...I've heard it all before. I can get massive muscles & toned abs in less than 10 minutes per day. Blah blah blah!"
That was my initial reaction to the "7 Minute Muscle System", and I'll be honest with you: the only reason I even bought this program was because I had read a lot about Jon Benson, and respected his opinion. I wanted to see what he was doing in these 7 "magic" minutes.
Well, similar to "Turbulence Training" (but based more on toning and building muscle than burning fat), Jon's routine is setup to do extremely high-intensity exercises in short bursts. He outlines the system in an ebook, and provides step-by-step videos for each muscle group you want to work with
Curious if "7 Minute Muscle" is the one for you? This should help:
7 Minute Muscle Pros:
- T.I.M.E. - The quickest workout (that works) you will ever find. Period.
- Easy to incorporate into an existing routine
- Very concentrated workouts (by body part, but all workouts are compound)
- Easy-to-follow videos explaining each exercise
7 Minute Muscle Cons:
- Not good if you're looking to learn new muscle building information
- Routine isn't as convenient (printable PDF), but the videos are cool
- A bit pricey for what you get, though the upgrades are stacked
Here's the deal: I would NOT recommend buying this program alone, unless you're busy and can't spend much time in the gym. I incorporated this system into my existing strength training routine and it worked well, but it's just not as good as Muscle Gain Truth by itself.
Find out more about it. Check out the "7 Minute Muscle System" now:

P.S. - Jon Benson is another fitness pro, and he offers some helpful free info in his email course, too. I signed up for the free course, and the free stuff he gives out is nice.

I heard about "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" a while after I started following the routines & meal plans from"Muscle Gain Truth" & "No Nonsense Muscle", but I decided to get it because there were TONS of great reviews for it.
I'll be honest: I wouldn't recommend buying this program UNLESS you are a complete beginner. While there are some very helpful pieces of information, it's purely based on just that...information.
There's nothing wrong with learning, but I like applying what I learn right away, and there are a lot less printable workout regimens, progress trackers, meal plans and videos in "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" than the kicka** bodybuilding routines above.
That said, Tom Venuto is a fitness genius, and I think this product is still worth picking up if you want to lay a solid foundation to get started OR simply add to your fitness library.
Here are the pros & cons of "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle":
Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle Pros:
- Best guide for nutrition info, hands down
- The most motivational & inspirational of all the programs
- Easy to read reports
- Well-balanced for males & females
- Does a good job of covering fat loss and muscle gain info
Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle Cons:
- No specific workout routines to follow, just tips
- No videos to help with form on exercises like others
Overall, this is a great set of information for anyone wanting to lose fat and build muscle gradually while they're at it. I wish I would have found this program before the others, but keep in mind that if you feel like you know a good amount already and/or your goals are geared mostly toward muscle gain, I would recommend you check out "Muscle Gain Truth" or "No Nonsense Muscle" instead of "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle". |
|
P.S. - Tom Venuto is a world-renowned fitness champion (you'll see why when you see his picture), so it's nice getting his free email course, too. (Yeah, I still belong to all 5 of these programs' free email lists!) Might as well sign up for it for some free tips, too: BurnTheFat.com.

Muscle-Building Program Reviews Wrap-Up
I hope these reviews have helped you find the best program for your goals. There are way too many options online, so I did my best to filter down to the ones that helped me the most so you don't have to spend $544.80 to figure out what programs work best for you, and $100's/month on supplements & gym memberships.
To wrap it all up, this is what I recommend:
1) If you want to build muscle naturally, and do it with pre-made meal plans w/ grocery lists, printable strength training workout routines, and online progress trackers, all combined with muscle gain techniques and tips from a pro natural bodybuilder, then check out "Muscle Gain Truth".
2) If your goal is to gain weight, "No Nonsense Muscle" is the best program for you overall, because Vince used his routine to gain 41lbs of muscle in about 6 months!
3) If you're in the same situation I was, and want to burn fat first, THEN tone up, I would highly recommend looking into "Turbulence Training", a fantastic alternative to long, boring cardio programs.
4) If you want to learn muscle building techniques from video tutorials to squeeze high-intensity workout routines into VERY short time periods because you're busy, "7 Minute Muscle" is right up your alley.
5) If you're looking to improve your diet to maximize your results, or you just want to add to your knowledge base about working out and nutrition, "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" has what you're looking for.
If you just want to invest in one weight lifting program you can follow, skip everything but Muscle Gain Truth.
Lastly, feel free to take a look around the rest of the site for detailed reviews, my favorite articles & posts from fitness pros and certified nutritionists, and some articles I've written.
